Thakur is a translator/interpreter of English and Nepali languages based in Kathmandu, Nepal. He has over 10 years of experience in conference interpreting (simultaneous from interpretation booth), training and workshop interpretation, interpretation during field visits and document translation. He has consulted for UN agencies, US embassy in Kathmandu, US Departments of State, Labor and Justice, National Democratic Institute (NDI) Nepal, Winrock International, Camris International, Root Change, Sajhedari Bikash Pariyojana, Forum of Federations, and Water Aid, among others for translation and interpretation assignments. Amgai has a background in journalism and teaching. He has conducted storytelling workshops for High Value Agricultural Project (HVAP) and Mercy Corps Nepal and prepared short impact videos for MRED project of Mercy Corps.
