What is the STC Technical Communication Summit & Expo?

The Society for Technical Communication (STC) is known as the world’s largest and oldest association on technical communication. From technical communication professionals to academics and industry representatives, STC boasts a diverse membership portfolio from industries and sectors all over the world. 

Its Technical Communication Summit & Expo is one of STC’s main initiatives in fostering the professional development of its members and attendees, and to consolidate and disseminate the latest groundbreaking innovations, trends, best practices, issues, and solutions in technical communication. 

The conference has been STC's annual stape since it first started all the way back in 1955. The organization has managed to keep that tradition going uninterrupted to the present day. 

The conference is actually one of the most expected events in the technical communication industry. Every year, it doesn’t fail to bring in more than 600 attendees and a few dozen exhibitors. If that isn’t enough, attendance actually qualifies for 8 Continuing Education Units (CEU) for Certified Professional Technical Communicators (CPTC). Every year, the conference is centered on different themes. 2020’s theme will be “Career Vision 20/20”. It will highlight topics in technical communication focusing on career development. 

This three-day event will provide two tracks to accommodate the number of attendees coming from various backgrounds with different interests in technical communication. 

The Education track will compose of presentations and workshops focusing on the following topics; Content Design and Delivery; Tools and Technologies; Training Development and Delivery; Project Management, Leadership, and Career Development. The Expo Hall track will feature companies and vendors demonstrating their latest products, services, and technology.
