Intended Audience
The 12th Annual Glendon Graduate Conference in Translation Studies will be exploring the connection between translation, image, and sound. The conference is for students, professional translators, and anyone who is interested in how symbols and messages are carried from one language to another through translation.
What Can You Expect?
The theme for this year’s conference is “Translation, Image, and Sound.” The aim is to explore the connection and the interplay of sound and image with translation. How is the translation used to navigate symbols made up of sounds and images?
The conference will be held virtually between March 18 and 20, 2022, and the keynote speaker will be Luis Pérez-González, University of Agder (Norway). There will also be many student presenters who will look into the presence and effect of sound and image in the field of translation.
Organization
The conference will be held virtually on March 18-22, 2022. The opening remarks will be given by Dr.Marco Fiola (Principal), Dr. Aurelia Klimkiewicz (Graduate Program Director), Dr. María Constanza Guzmán (Conference Committee Faculty Advisor), Eden Minichiello , and Jean-François St-Arnault (students and members of the conference organizing committee).
After the opening remarks, Dr. González will deliver his keynote presentation entitled, Immaterial Media Translation and the Spectacularisation of Disinformation in Digital Comment Culture(s). After the keynote presentation, the program will be divided into sessions.
